Canyon Crest AcademyApproximately 1880 students in grades 9-12. Admitted students live throughout the San Dieguito Union High School District, which includes Carmel Valley, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe and La Costa. CCA is a public "school of choice" where any student in the district can select the academy and a lottery is held if the number of applications exceeds the available seats.
Since August 2004, CCA has been a leader in achievement and performance for our district and in our county. In 2012-2013, CCA repeated the feat of earning the highest public school Academic Performance Index (API) in San Diego County and saw an improvement in state test scores in every area. CCA student accomplishments reach beyond the classroom as well. Our students have earned accolades in diverse extra-curricular activities such as our nationally-ranked math team; students recognized through the San Diego County Science Fair, Science Olympiad, Siemens Science Competition and Intel Science Competition; our award-winning school publications; visual and performing arts, including a Grammy Signature School Enterprise Award and National Youth Theater Awards; and athletic teams that have competed in statewide championships. The dedicated and talented staff collaborate across curriculum.
